My calves pulled up a bit tight after Tuesdays faster run and last nights bag work didn't do much to loosen them up so I set off today at fairly conservative pace. With my history the last thing I need at the moment is to overdo things in the calf department.
The first k was a bit scratchy but after that I settled into a fairly comfortable rythym as I doddled around the foreshore on my standard out and back course to Canada Bay and return.
All up 10k in 61.06 (av 6.06 pace).
The bod is feeling a bit weary having trained every day for the last seven days - depending on how I feel I might make tomorrow a complete rest day.

Those calves can develop quickly into an old cow of a problem. Udderly ridiculous but hope you weren't stuck working with an old bag.
Nice work 2P. Hope the old cows behave themselves ;-)
Why not take the day off running and try to do a session in the sauna. I reckon the legs could do with a rest and if you go in the sauna your body will think your still on the trails.
Some runner here swear by a sauna session.
134 days - seems like along way away but I'm sure it will come around far too quickly!
My calves are slowly recovering from Sunday's downhill run - but for a couple of days they were not happy! Of course I had to spoil it by going to track tonight and running a 3,000m - they are complaining a little again!
I'm having a day off tomorrow - how about you?
I think you've earned a full day off 2P!
I love reading your blog at the moment cos you're running at about my pace. However, I'm sure it won't last!
Rest day sounds like a good idea 2P. You know you need it when your body is telling you so. That's a lot of training after a big break.
you're doing the right things. No point in pushing the pace or the distance at this stage. Injuries have been all too common on the PG blogs.
Besides which, 6FT is still ages away. Doesn't some CR punter have a countdown timer thingy going showing how long there is left ...?
There just can't be one good calf pun left, dung it!
2 weeks from Monday I go under the knife.
By then I'll be faster moon-walking backwards.
Well, I hope you took the day off! (see, it doesn't pay to read blog entries late... :-) )
Gnome
have a rest and don't feel guilty.
I have had 3 days off now..i may run tomorrow...i may not.
cheers R2B
