Back home from up the coast and this mornings run was.... well let's just say there is room for improvement....
Turned Garmy off at 6k and just walked home - I don't often quit but it just would have been stoopid to push a rapidly deteriorating sitch - see - who says ya can't teach an old dog new trick :-)
Nothing serious - just feel a bit crook that's all - ya get that on the big jobs.

bummer mate, still, like everyone always tells me - gotta have the crap ones to love the good ones! Hope you feel better asap!
Nothing wrong with a 6k run?
I think it is fair to say that after a big weekend run like the 26km you did you would be feeling a bit buggered still on Monday.
Anyhow I'm with simlin....whats wrong with a 6km run. It is called a recovery run for a reason. TO RECOVERY....SLOWLY. don't bother taking the Garmy next time after a long run so you won't feel so bad about it and just do what the body feels like.
What they said.
Keep chipping away mate. :)
Your runs through the trails sound so nice!!! You will bounce back tommorow I ams ure!
I think sometimes it takes more guts to turn around and walk back. It is too easy to convince yourself that you must finish each run.
6kms is better than my big zero kms ;-)
Hope you're feeling better soon. Somebody's gotta rack up the mileage for Team J.
Take it easy matey. Holidays can be taxing ;-) I'm sure you'll bounce back on your next run.
What's a 'sitch'? Just so I know what to do if it ever happens to me ;)
Smart man to not push a bad run and walk home. Seeing as I do it all the time does that make me smarter?
Well I must say your idea of a relaxing holiday (eg hilly 26k) will stand you in good stead for the Big One. Hope the family didn't wonder what happened to you... Looking forward to reading about your "tapering" for the Six Foot...
6K good for a post holiday run. Bounce back tomorrow is guaranteed mate.
26k's is awesome in anyone's language mate, so I am not surprised you might be feeling a bit crook. You were on your feet for almost three hours, which is a long haul.
