Today Total: 7k
Week Total: 50k
Month Total: 40k
Year Total: 447k
Just a nice gentle 7k @ 6.28 pace - pretty sticky out there this morning though.
Very pleased to have put in a 50k week after the 25k and 16k of the previous 2 virus disrupted weeks.
Shaping up nicely and even the scales are being relatively friendly - with a bit of good management I'll hit the start line spot on 90kgs.
Rest tomorrow - something short and quickish on Tuesday - something short and slowish Wednesday and/or Thursday depending on feel.
The thing I love/hate about 6ft is that no matter if you are underdone, overdone or baby bear - it is still going to hurt - probably better not to think about it I suppose...

hmm - just started typing and managed to magically lose the whole comment. anyways... you are going to have a great race! hope that the twins behave and I should be on medalling duty when you cross the line so I'll give you an extra loud cheer!!! (thank god I didn't volunteer for 'dechipping' sweaty runners ankles :)
The good thing about being a virgin I think is that you truly have no idea what's ahead. Ignorance is bliss. For now. Perhaps not so blissful this time next Saturday!
If there was going to be pain I wouldn't have entered. What pain? Hopefully none for all of us until we finish at least.
Superflake, there will be pain!
It is going to hurt. I just don't want it to hurt too much. Am I being a wimp or something? Just want to get to Pluvi capable of making the last 19k hurt!
At least we can hope to be pain-free on the run down to the river. Just love that bit.
Not long to go 2P, not long at all. Have a good last week and I look forward to reading about the final count down.
Five sleeps to go. Yikes! Still, these are much happier posts than this time last year.
Hang on ... its six. Then again, you probably won't be able to sleep Friday night.
the only problem with the taper is you have much more time to obsess about the race!
best of luck mate.
What's all the fuss about, it's just a little run, isn't it.
Have a great week, I'm sure you'll do well and it'll hurt, but in a nice way, if you know what I mean.
"The man who can drive himself further once the effort gets painful is the man who will win."
Sir Roger Bannister
"The thing I love/hate about 6ft is that no matter if you are underdone, overdone or baby bear - it is still going to hurt." 2P
Two more true quotes I haven't read.
Shaping up very nicely I'd say 2P.
Only a few more sleeps and we'll all be a lot wiser (and no doubt a bit sorer!)
kid gloves now mate - and stop thinking about the pain. Think instead of how you're going to juggle the PG at the end of the race
Enjoy the next couple of days and I'll see you on Saturday.
Good luck on Sat 2P's, I'm sure you are going to have a ball!
Hope it's a good pain!! At least there will be plenty of others to share it with including Goldilocks :)
Hmmmm...thanks for those final encouraging thoughts!
Your training week sounds very similar to mine - an easy run today, a 5km race tomorrow, another easy run on Wednesday, that's it until Saturday.
There you are.. you managed to slip off my bloglines and I've missed all the Evil Twin's misbehaving.
Hope they stay well and truly cowed and I'm looking forward to seeing you on Saturday where you'll receive only the slightest matronly hug from us all... in fact I think you'll be lucky if we speak to you at all ;)
Oh my god, I've been away from blogger land too long. I can't believe it's 6 foot already. You are going to kick arse!
