Hamming It

And because my Team J mate Tesso likes pictures....

This shot is immediately after the race (obviously) - good thing I'd washed most of the blood, gravel and dirt off in Allum Ck. Looks a bit wimpy really - nowhere near as good as CJ's ones from a while back.

Here we are 2 days later - Only showing the left hand (pity this shot doesn't show the other side of the pinky as the back of the bottom 2 joints are particularly choice - I must have speared in with my hand in a fist) and my shin below - I also have a matching shoulder, thigh and right palm to complete the set :-)

The black toenail goes back to my Hellgate Gorge recce. You might also notice that my right legs ankle bone is not showing because the whole joint is a bit puffy from running pigeon toed to take the pressure of the Evil Twin for about 40k or so.

Fun game this running innit?

Wow 2P you're a good looking fellow!

If you had a mo I would swear I was looking at a young Rodney Marsh.

About that right ankle being a "bit puffy" are you sure that bloody red belly black snake didn't get a bite in?

"Christ on a scooter!" or whatever.

Well done 2P. What a trooper! I'm proud of you! Love the blood and guts photo's. Never mind the hands, you save the 'Brad Pitt' good looks. :-)

Gosh when I read the posts it made me want to run Six Foot....now seeing your photos I am reassured that the trails are not for me!

Great run 2P. I know you didn't get what you wanted....but you did really - didn't you Scott? You finished and isnt' that the main thing. And in your own words you "had a ball out there" You finished BEFORE the sweepers and before many others.

You injured yourself but you kept gonig. Only our 2P does that.
I am so proud of you and hope that you recover swiftly from the scrapes and bruises and any other ailment that us runners get when we push ourselves to the edge!

Keep an eye on those twins.

I do love a good pic :-)

Man, that looks painful. Just the grazed knee would have me whinging.

Is it my imagination or were there more "falling over" stories from this year's race than before? Maybe there ought to be a trophy for best klutz. Got much room on your mantelpiece?

Looks like you had a good race then. Everyone needs battle scars don't they?

Ouch!

Professional advice would be rest and apply cold beer.

Very impressive war wounds!! I'm sure it's all fun and games NOW - especially with some sympathy-gaining souvenirs. Next year as you are training for six foot you'll look at all your scars as badges of honour!

Imagine how much worse they'd have been if there'd been that extra bag of cement of momentum involved in the force of impact? You know, I do get a bit squeamish at the sight of blood, so I'm glad that it was toned down a bit.

Yeah, but CJ is very smug about you 'doing a CJ' and not her!

Look after the ankle mate. See you for the 6' fat ass ;)

Geez mate you did a good job. Like Clairie said although you didn't get what you wanted just to continue on after so many things were against you is a mighty fine effort.

I was expecting a DNF or close to 7 hrs after reading about the injuries but was amazed when you still came soooo close to breaking 6hrs. Well done mate :-)

Great run 2P, truly amazing. I really don't know how you carried on. Love the war photos..

What's the next big challenge?

If you are going to 'do a CJ' you've gotta do a good job and I think that was a pretty good one! That ankle looks bad - hope its ok. I'm amazed that you actually ran all that way on that ankle!

And I'm p*****d that we missed meeting heading up the Pluvio! Bugger! Now I have to wait until next SFT to meet the famous 2P!

Nice photo 2P. You should check your Hellgate Gorge countdown, it says that it's on it 6 days... I'm keen, but not that keen...

Nice photos. Always good to have a wound that you can see (as far as sympathy goes). Sore muscles, strains, etc don't really have the same effect.

Ooooh nasty!!

Love your official photos on Marathon-Photos - esp the posey river shots - classic! They're keepers for sure.

Those are some calves you have there 2P - no wonder they give you trouble!! Ooops, don't tell Mrs 2P I was checking our your legs!! ;-)

MAR.

Now it would have been boring if you hadn't fallen over adn the calves hadn't played up, etc. You wouldn't have had anything to write about :-)

Seriously, it was a typically gutsy run. Congratulations on yet another success (even if it didn't feel like it at the time :-) )
