I don't think I whinge much but I'm whinging now - I dunno what's up. Went for a run tonight and all was going great guns through 2k then my breathing got out of shape and I felt crap all over - seems the blahs haven't quite left me yet!
Made my way home with my tail between my legs and a couple of walk breaks.
On the upside I'm crossing the ditch tomorrow for a 10 day work/pleasure trip to the deep South of the South Island - can't wait :-)
Oh yeah - does anyone have any cheese to go with my whine?

hmmm...what are we gunna do about you 2P hmm?
Look, It is Thursday. Your weekly total says 4 km today for a total of 8 km for the week to date. Doesn't that tell you something? You need to be getting out every day mate, to a distance and intensity within your capacity to recover for the next day to do it all again. Think about it. Don't do anything that will take you two or three days until you are ready to run again. Every run must be only so hard as to allow you to get out and do it again tomorrow. It is as simple and difficult as that. Ganbare.
Nothing a few trail runs on the south island won't sort out mate :)
I had to write 2P as it's not often I get the chance to use the word "quandary."
But that's what we have here. For what it's worth I suggest a sauna for as long as you can take it a full body massage with oils and 7 days of sunrise runs on or near that golf course you have mentioned close to your place.
Do say 30 mins a day like Steve says everyday and if you're not feeling better after that go and get a full check up.
We will know when you're better as your blog entries will get bigger. I remember a 2P on a roll just prior to the last 6ft track when you would post blog entries akin to chapters of "War and Peace."
Also I was just thinking if you have a "tail between your legs" that could be your problem!! ;)
Steve, they shoot horses don't they?
Mate, I hear they produce good cheese in the land of the long black cloud ;)
Get out for a few ks on the Kepler Track if you can. Provided there's no other problem (burning the candle at both ends, iron etc) aim to get out every day, and take it easy! Better to do 30mins every day at 6:30 pace than occassional 2k 'good' the rest bad type of runs 3 or 4 times a week.
I'll throw in my two cents worth ... just take it easy and do what feels right. I was pretty suprised (and a little jealous)to read your times/pace as you seemed to get straight back into what I consider some fairly swift running. So I agree with Ewen - some nice steady/slow runs might be the go. Have a good trip.
